COLLABORATION WITH THE SPANISH R&D+I SYSTEM
Do you want to collaborate with the Spanish R&D+i system?
Registering with the Directory of Spanish researchers abroad will give you the opportunity to contribute your knowledge to the Spanish R&D+i system by collaborating with different entities and agents in the sector.
This service makes all researchers registered on EURAXESS Networks and who are interested in collaborating with the Spanish R&D+i system part of the FECYT database, enabling them to participate in future evaluation processes.
FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology)
The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) [ES], as a body that helps the Ministry for Economy and Competitiveness to disseminate its human resources policy in the area of research, works with different bodies within the Spanish R&D+i system in order to bring research talent abroad back home.
FECYT is an instrument of the Ministry for Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) [ES] that is designed to strengthen the value chain of knowledge, boosting science and innovation and promoting its integration into and closeness with society, responding to the needs and expectations of the Spanish Science, Technology and Business System (SECTE).
FECYT assists the MINECO with its responsibilities with regard to communicating and disseminating science and technology through the National Programme of Scientific Culture and Innovation, which is part of the 2009 Work Programme of the National R&D+i Plan 2008-2011.
However, boosting the social impact of the different initiatives for developing scientific and innovative culture is just one of the strategic priorities of the Foundation.
Another priority is to encourage the transfer of knowledge into innovative and entrepreneurial talent. This priority is intimately linked with the call for applications for funding for activities related to the Promotion of Scientific Culture and Innovation that link researchers and entrepreneurs; boosting international initiatives that help to attract talent and promote researcher mobility, and developing the social network of researchers; encouraging and coordinating networks of entrepreneurs; promoting scientific and innovative vocations and professional skills from the very first stages of education in order to awaken young people’s curiosity and interest in science, technology and innovation, from school age onwards; and, finally, boosting the Foundation’s relationships with similar international organisations.
The other strategic priorities are to lead the process to integrate and rationalise the use of science and innovation information and indicators, promote the generation of returns that derive value from skills, as well as implementing a user-focused management model based on excellence.
The objective of the Foundation’s work is to be recognised by all of Spanish society as a key leader in disseminating, communicating and measuring science and innovation, in order to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
ANEP (National Agency for Evaluation and Forecasting)
The National Agency for Evaluation and Forecasting (ANEP) is a unit that falls under the Secretariat of State for Research of the Ministry for Economy and Competitiveness. Its responsibilities include objectively and independently carrying out the scientific-technical assessment of the units, teams and research proposals for participation in programmes and projects of the National Plan, as well as monitoring the results. In addition, it also carries out studies and forecasting analysis on scientific research and technological development. To do all this it relies on the support of Spanish assessors abroad who are experts in the different subject areas.
The ANEP has made a notable contribution to the enormous qualitative boost that has occurred in Spanish science during recent years and has become a key scientific observatory.
This entity is structured into 26 thematic areas [ES] each of which is coordinated by prestigious scientists who work in public and private research or technological development organisations.
