Offer Description

The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid offers a 4-year PhD position in interdisciplinary AI research. This position is part of the MAGNIFY-ViT project, which has been selected in the first phase of the UAM predoctoral contracts program for interdisciplinary AI research.

Project Description

MAGNIFY-ViT -Mathematical and Algebro-Geometric Frameworks for Interpreting Vision Transformers.

MAGNIFY-ViT develops mathematical frameworks to analyze and understand vision transformers. The project applies algebraic geometry methods to address challenges in AI model interpretability, bias detection, and efficient adaptation. The research aims to bridge mathematical theory with practical applications in computer vision.

Position Details

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Emilio Franco Gómez (Mathematics Department) and Prof. Marcos Escudero-Viñolo (School of Engineering). The position includes access to computing resources, with potential additional funding for conference attendance and research stays, and integration into active research groups in both departments.

The contract follows standard Spanish FPI predoctoral conditions, with salary progression over the four-year period and potential extension for postdoctoral work upon thesis completion.
