Description
Outline
This program is designed to enable Japanese researchers to invite their foreign colleagues to Japan to participate in cooperative work. The application for the program should be submitted to JSPS through the host institution; or through overseas nominating authorities (Individual applications are not accepted).
What is funded
Research stays and part of research costs of the fellows.
Duration
Standard, and 'Pathway to University Positions': 12-24 months
Short-term: 1-12 months
Eligibility
Fellow Eligibility conditions:
(1) Be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan (JSPS treats Taiwanese and Palestinian researchers in this manner).
(2) Hold a doctorate degree when the Fellowship goes into effect, which must have been received within the past 6 years, or be scheduled to receive a doctorate degree before the Fellowship goes into effect.
Host Eligibility conditions:
The host researcher must be a researcher who is employed full-time at a university or research institution
