EU-SOLARIS Introduces New Annual Awards to Boost CST Research Community

The SOLARIZE project has launched two new annual awards to strengthen the scientific community in concentrated solar thermal (CST) technologies and support the training of emerging researchers. The awards will be presented during the Gala Dinner of the EU-SOLARIS Annual Doctoral Colloquium and Summer School.

Although created under SOLARIZE, these awards—and the associated events—are intended to continue as EU-SOLARIS ERIC initiatives beyond the project’s end in December 2027.

Award Categories

  1. Best Doctoral Thesis in CST (2023–2025)
  2. Outstanding Contribution to CST Research Infrastructure Capabilities and Services (2023–2025)

Selection Process

The Scientific & Technical Committee (STC) of EU‑SOLARIS ERIC will evaluate all nominations. Any member with a conflict of interest will be excluded from the selection.

Key Dates

  • Call opens: 21 January
  • Deadline for nominations: 30 April
  • STC decision: 20 May
  • Award Ceremony: June, at the Gala Dinner (date to be confirmed)
