University of Córdoba Launches Call to Attract Top Postdoctoral Talent Through ‘Rosalind Franklin’ International Research Plan

Call UOC_ ERC 2025

The University of Córdoba (UCO) has announced a new call for applications under its prestigious ‘Rosalind Franklin’ International Research Plan – Modality 3, aimed at attracting elite postdoctoral researchers leading internationally funded projects.

This initiative seeks to reinforce the university’s global research profile by inviting ERC-funded postdoctoral researchers or coordinators of international projects within the EU framework to continue their groundbreaking work in Córdoba, supported by a host research group at UCO.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be Principal Investigators (PIs) of projects funded by the European Research Council (ERC) or coordinators of international research projects under the current EU funding framework.
  • Be in a position to transfer their project and join the University of Córdoba with the support of a local research group.
  • Ensure that the ERC project has sufficient budget to continue supporting the PI post-transfer.

The University will officially become the beneficiary institution once the transfer is finalized.

Duration

The funding and hosting arrangement will continue until the end of the project’s term as per its Grant Agreement, with a minimum duration of 24 months from the date of the PI’s relocation. Projects with shorter remaining durations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Financial Package

Each selected applicant will receive up to €30,000 per year, broken down as:

  • €20,000/year as supplementary salary support for the PI.
  • €10,000/year for the Research Unit that hosts the project.

This funding is provided in addition to the amounts already granted under the original ERC or EU project.

Interested researchers must contact the International Project Office at UCO via email: opi@uco.es.
